Thanksgiving Cannibal?

I caught the end of The Peanuts Thanksgiving Special last night. I enjoy Charlie Brown and the gang, but I was disturbed last evening.

At the end, Woodstock and Snoopy eat a Thanksgiving meal. Woodstock eats turkey, and then gets the lucky side of the wish bone, to boot. Is this cannibalism, bird style? Is woodstock aware that he’s eating a close relative? What is Charles Schultz really trying to say here?

Maybe he has gone insane as a result of avian flu and doesn’t realise that it is a turkey… or maybe you are just reading into a cartoon waaay too much.

I know I missed the ‘film noir’ day; I’m sure that was the day discussion of cannibalistic comic strip characters dominated the conversation. Am I right?

I think so. Actually, we never got to cannibalistic comic strip characters, but we did find out how Finding Nemo is related to the power of prayer.

Wait, I was there for that one. I now use a clown fish as a personal devotional icon; it really helps.

That’s beautiful, Isaac. As for me, well, this time of year I pop in the ole’ copy of “The Santa Clause” and re-examine issues of faith.
